About Mara

Growing up, I learned the art of photography from my own father and mother, which is why highlighting families and children is at the core of what I do. As a mother, wife, daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend, I have experienced all the emotions that are reflective of having those meaningful relationships. One of my greatest joys has been watching my children grow from my babies into independent young men. The joy and pain that goes with being part of a family is what connects us all to each other and is one of the greatest and hardest parts of being alive. Through it all photography has always been the ultimate form of storytelling for me. Through curiosity, empathy and awe of life and relationships, moments that provoke awareness and sentiment are most powerful inspirations for me to create.
